The story of Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein 2 revolves around an orphan girl named Suman who wishes to lead a happy married life along with a loving family. Karan and Karthik are brothers of the same family and are close to each other. Suman's marriage gets fixed with Karthik, the eldest son of the family, but Suman and Karan fall in love with each other in the meantime.

Employed as a News Reporter with 'Azad Kalam' Amar Kumar, who is heavily in debt as well as months behind on his rent, exposes the conditions in Doleria Housing Complex, and is invited by the owner, Sonadas Doleria, to Delhi. Once there, the latter offers him employment in either U.S., London or Paris as a Public Relations Agent but he refuses and returns home by an Indian Airlines flight. This trip turns out to be eventful as he meets two males, Johnny and Tikam, gets invited to a party, and shortly before the flight lands, the person, Sevakram, seated next to him, is found dead. Amar attempts to patch up with his estranged girlfriend, Asha - the daughter of Barrister Rameshchand - and both decide to attend Tikam's party. Amar does not know that the police want to question him as a suspect as they now have evidence that Sevakram was murdered, and before this incident was on the run after stealing Rs.4 Lakhs - an amount which is not traceable - but believed to be in Amar's possession.

After the death of their parents, Kamla Gulati and her elder brother live together and assist each other. Soon her brother gets a job and they move up in life. Then Kamla elopes with a young man and leaves her brother without informing him of her whereabouts. Shortly thereafter her pregnant body is found lifeless, abandoned by her boyfriend. Gulati goes for a holiday in Panchgani and upon arrival at the local Circuit House meets with a young woman who identifies herself as Vinodini T. Gulati, the daughter of T.N. Gulati. He starts treating her as his sister and becomes very protective toward her. When he finds out that a young man named Amol Palekar alias Ramu is attempting to woo her, he forbids her to see or have any contact with him in any way, as he fears that she may end up like Kamla. He is headed for several surprises as he will soon find out that Vinodini is not who she ...
